Yashi Paper Strengthens Industry–University–Research Cooperation to Accelerate Bamboo Fiber Innovation
Yashi Paper recently welcomed an important industry–university–research exchange as Chairman Mr. Yu, General Manager Mr. Zhou Xiang, and the senior management team visited Sichuan University of Science & Engineering, accompanied by key industry leaders and academic experts. The visit focused on in-depth discussions around “Bamboo Fiber Innovation Research and Application”, marking another milestone in Yashi Paper’s commitment to advancing sustainable bamboo pulp and paper technologies.
Promoting Bamboo Fiber Innovation Through Industry–Academia Collaboration
The delegation included Mr. Fan, President of the Sichuan Paper Association, and Mr. Luo, Vice President, along with university leaders and researchers. Discussions centered on accelerating the transformation of bamboo fiber research into industrial applications, further integrating industry, academia, and research to promote innovation across the bamboo pulp paper sector.

Sichuan University of Science & Engineering is a leading institution in paper-making education and research in southwestern China, with more than 40 years of experience in the field. Its Pulp and Paper Engineering discipline is recognized as a provincial key discipline, supported by dozens of PhD researchers and renowned industry experts.

Building a High-Standard Bamboo Pulp Testing Laboratory
Accompanied by Secretary Ma and the teaching team from the College of Food and Brewing Engineering, both parties conducted in-depth discussions on Industry–University–Research Cooperation and Bamboo Fiber Innovation Research and Application, clearly defining cooperation pathways and implementation methods.
Since signing a formal cooperation agreement in 2019, Yashi Paper and Sichuan University of Science & Engineering have jointly established a specialized bamboo pulp paper laboratory under the university’s guidance. The laboratory is equipped with more than 30 advanced testing instruments, enabling comprehensive testing of bamboo pulp products, including:
Thickness measurement
Wet strength testing
Tensile strength analysis
Whiteness and quality evaluation
These advanced testing capabilities significantly enhance Yashi Paper’s quality management system, ensuring stable, high-quality bamboo pulp paper products for global markets.
Expanding Industry Chain Cooperation with Yibin Paper Industry
As part of the visit, the delegation also conducted an in-depth exchange with Yibin Paper Industry, exploring new opportunities for collaboration across the bamboo pulp paper industry chain.
General Manager Mr. Zhou Xiang outlined key cooperation directions, including:
Bamboo pulp board and raw bamboo paper procurement
Production of household and office paper
Development of paper cups, paper bowls, and molded bamboo fiber products
This cooperation aims to cover the entire bamboo industry chain, from upstream raw materials to downstream finished products, driving coordinated and sustainable industry development.
Mr. Xiong, Vice General Manager of Yibin Paper Industry, expressed sincere appreciation for the cooperation opportunity and stated that Yibin Paper would actively study and推进 the proposed collaboration plans, further strengthening upstream–downstream integration.
