Exploring Natural Bamboo Resources and Sustainable Origins
The first stop of the journey focused on the origin of OULU’s bamboo materials — the natural bamboo forests in Sichuan, China. Known as one of the world’s most important bamboo regions, Sichuan provides an ideal environment for high-quality bamboo growth. OULU carefully selects mature natural Cizhu bamboo from the high-altitude bamboo forests around 30°N latitude as the key raw material for its premium bamboo tissue products.
Oulu Tissue Sourcing – Real-life view of the native bamboo forest base
Away from industrial areas, the Cizhu bamboo forests grow naturally with clean water resources and sustainable cultivation practices. No chemical fertilizers or pesticides are applied, ensuring the purity and environmental responsibility of the raw materials.
OULU follows strict material selection standards, choosing Cizhu bamboo with optimal fiber structure, softness, and strength to create tissue products that deliver both comfort and durability.
